We offer a range of single and return tickets that you can buy on the day or in advance for travel on a particular day. These include Anytime and Off-Peak tickets, which can be easily added to a c2c Smartcard or purchased as an e-ticket.

What is an Anytime ticket?
With an Anytime ticket, you can travel on any train for the date(s) shown on your ticket, including the weekday morning peak. Anytime train tickets allow for flexible outward and return travel between two stations, either on a single day or returning within a one-month period. There are no restrictions on the time of day you can travel with an Anytime ticket, meaning you can board a train during Peak or Off-Peak or hours.

What are Off Peak tickets?
With an Off Peak ticket on c2c services, you can travel on any Off Peak train for the date(s) shown on your ticket. There are some exceptions and other operators vary, so use the journey planner to check what the applicable fares are, depending on the time and day of travel.
Off-Peak times on c2c
c2c operates a simple two-band Peak and Off-Peak model.Evening
- Our evening peak is between 16:00 – 19:00 on Mondays to Fridays (excluding bank holidays). This applies to all services leaving from or going via a London station (Zones 1-6) during this period.
Morning
- Our morning peak applies to all services departing before 09:30 on Monday to Friday (excludes bank holidays).
Weekends and bank holidays
- All weekend and bank holiday travel is classified as Off-Peak.

Adding a London Travelcard to a daily ticket
Travelcards allow you to travel to London and enjoy unlimited travel throughout London on National Rail, London Underground, Docklands Light Railway, Tramlink and London Bus services within London Zones 1-6. The Travelcard allows you to reach your final c2c destination within London, and then travel unlimited throughout London - using any of those services listed above. To add a Travelcard to a daily ticket set your destination station to ‘London Zones 1-6’. The c2c journey planner will return an Anytime Day Return. To add the Travelcard, click ‘other fares’ which will then give you the option to select the Travelcard.

What is a London Terminal?
London Terminals are a group of mainline rail stations in central London. Journeys into London via rail usually end at a London Terminal stations. For customers travelling into London on the c2c route, a London Terminal is both London Fenchurch Street or London Liverpool Street. If your ticket reads ‘London Terminals’, you can alight at either of those two London Terminal stations. However, you cannot use that ticket to travel into or throughout London beyond that London Terminal station using London Underground, Docklands Light Railway, Tramlink and London Bus services. If you want to travel beyond the London Terminal station into London, make sure your ticket includes a Travelcard, or is valid to London Zones.

What tickets can I get on the c2c Smartcard?
We've improved Smartcards so you can now buy most daily ticket options, including those with Railcards, through both the web and c2c Train Travel app. With the app, you can even load them directly onto your Smartcard.
Ticket types that can be added to a c2c Smartcard are:
- Daily tickets - including with Railcards - between two c2c stations
- Daily tickets with Travelcards to London stations outside the c2c route
- Off-peak returns, including those bought in advance
- Seasons (Weekly, Monthly, Odd Period and Yearly)
- Flexi Season tickets (adults only)
- PlusBus tickets (Benfleet Seasons only)
- Child Tickets on Child Smartcard
- Kids for £2
What tickets can't I get on a Smartcard?
- Daily single or return tickets that go from a c2c station, and through a London zone station, to one outside the c2c route

How many tickets can I store on my c2c Smartcard?
The c2c Smartcard can hold up to five active tickets at a time. A Flexi Season will count as one. Expired tickets can be cleared from the card by visiting one of our pink ticket machines and placing your Smartcard in the holder, or by using the in-app loading feature of the c2c Train Travel App.
