Work to commence on Chafford Hundred lift upgrade

Passengers are being advised about a project to upgrade the lift at Chafford Hundred station, with work beginning in January.
The station already has step-free access available from street level to the platform so those wishing to use Chafford Hundred station will be able to enter and exit as usual.
The works will improve lift reliability at the station and will start on Tuesday 3 January. From this date, the lift will be out of use.
The lift leads to the bridge connecting the station and Lakeside shopping centre so customers who need step-free access into Lakeside Shopping centre, including carers with prams and buggies, are strongly recommended to use Ensign bus route X80, which can be taken from outside of the station (please check the bus timetable below, before travelling).
This also applies for the return journey so customers needing to travel from Chafford Hundred from Lakeside Shopping centre are recommended to use the above bus route.
Alternatively, customers can alight at Grays station and get the Ensign 73 bus to Lakeside shopping centre.
