Community Use Stations

We have secured funding to make improvements to facilities at one of the below stations in the next financial year as part of the Community Use Stations programme.

The stations available for consideration are:

  • Ockendon
  • Shoeburyness
  • Southend Central
  • Westcliff

To ensure we are developing plans which align with local needs and requirements, we would like to invite your feedback on initiatives and projects which could benefit these stations and their local communities.

We will invest in a project covering a range of themes, including conservation and the environment, employability, health and wellbeing, diversity and inclusion, cultural groups and education.

We are very keen to hear proposals of community-focused projects, groups and initiatives which could utilise space at these stations. This could be a new or established scheme, but must offer benefits to one or more community groups in your local area.

We are keen to review structured proposals which include a summary of expected costs, the areas of the community set to benefit and the potential impact of implementing such a scheme.

Following a review of all the proposals received through this process, we will undertake feasibility studies into the most viable projects before selecting which one to take forward and will update all stakeholders who submit a proposal by the end of 2024.

If you would like to submit a proposal, please complete this form below.
