What is the best things to do in Westcliff?
Visit the Westcliff bay beach, a sand beach the whole family can enjoy. There, you can relax on the sand or have a stroll or cycle along the palm tree fringed sea front.

When visiting Westcliffe, you can also wander over to Chalkwell Park, a popular destination that is only a short walk away from the beach. The ornamental garden is a buzzing hub of sporting activity with facilities for football, cricket, children’s playgrounds, a skate park and more. There is also an environment garden, home to a number of colourful birds including peacocks.

Where can I eat and drink in Westcliff-on-Sea?
Beside the legendary ice cream from Rossi’s, there are some really cracking places to get some grub when you visit Westcliffe-on-Sea. Find a corner of Italy on Shorefield road, just off the Esplanade where you can find not one, not two but three tip top Italian joints in a row. Don Amici’s restaurant is another well known Italian place which can be found on Milton road which is close by.
For modern style seafood in a very pretty beachfront setting, head to the Oyster Creek Kitchen or The Estuary where on a sunny day you’ll feel more like you’re in the Caribbean. Toulouse down the beach has lovely French fare, and Oliver’s on the beach (part of the Jamie Oliver family) have people raving about their breakfasts.

Take the train from London Fenchurch Street Station to Southend (you can also hop on at Limehouse, West Ham or Barking) then alight at Westcliff where you’re a 5 minute walk away from the seafront. Journey time from London is between 45 mins – 1hr. There are 4 trains per hour on weekdays and train tickets bought online three days in advance from London Fenchurch Street to Westcliff are £12.10 return. Kids also travel for £2 on weekends and over school holidays.
