Save 1/3 on your travel with a National Railcard

Having a National Railcard means you can save 1/3 off most rail fares on rail routes around the country. With a range of Railcards to choose from, you can pick the most suitable one for you. There’s even a Railcard for 16- and 17-year-olds offering a whopping 50% discount.

16-17 Saver

The new 16–17 Saver gives 50% off most National Rail fares. Whether you’re catching the train to college, seeing friends at the weekend or going away with the family, the 16–17 Saver helps you travel more for less. This product is only available when you buy your tickets online or at the station ticket office, but is not available on our ticket machines.

16-25 Railcard

Whether you’re aged between the years of 16 – 25, or if you’re a full time student, this Railcard can help you make great savings on your train travel. It can even pay for itself after as little as a couple journeys. You must have either a valid passport or UK driving licence.

You can purchase a 16-25 Railcard up to the day before your 26th birthday (or 24th birthday for a three-year card).

26 – 30 Railcard

Valid for those aged 26-30, save 1/3 on most rail fares across Britain for a year. A 26-30 Railcard can be used at any time for Peak and Off-Peak travel. For journeys made between 04:30 and 10:00 Monday to Friday, a minimum fare of £12 is payable. There is no minimum fare when you travel at weekends or on Public Holidays. You can also link your 26-30 Railcard with an Oyster Card to get 1/3 off Off-Peak travel around London.

You can purchase a 26-30 Railcard up to the day before your 31st birthday.

Senior Railcard

If you’re aged 60 or older and use the trains to travel frequently, then a Senior Railcard may just be the ticket for you! You can use your Railcard to travel across Britain, making you savings as you go for even more amazing journeys. You must have either a valid passport or UK Driving licence.

Network Railcard

Anyone aged 16 and over can explore London and the South East with a Network Railcard; this gives you up to 1/3 off most rail fares within the Network Railcard area. You can also take up to 3 adults with you who can get up to 1/3 off too, as well as up to 4 children (aged 5-15) and save 60% on the child fare!

Two Together Railcard

The Two Together Railcard is a no brainer for any dynamic duo who travels together regularly – giving you both savings of 1/3 off your rail fares! This isn’t just an exclusive card for couples either; you can get one with a best friend or a family member too. The best part: the Railcard costs just £30 – that’s £15 each – and will have paid for itself after just a couple trips!

Family & Friends Railcard

The Family & Friends Railcard isn’t just a standard money saver, it gives you so much more. Reap the rewards and enjoy 1/3 off rail fares for up to 4 adults and 60% off for up to 4 kids (aged 5-15). Plus you can have two adults named on the same card, so when one cardholder isn’t using it – the other can! This Railcard also offers great discounts on partnered theme parks, museums, hotels and more.

Disabled Persons Railcard

You could receive 1/3 off your rail fares for travel, and with no time restrictions, enjoy the rewards of anytime discounted travel with a Disabled Persons Railcard. If you’re also travelling with another adult, they will receive 1/3 off their fare too! So if you receive disability related benefits, including Personal Independence Payments, are audibly or visually impaired or have epilepsy; you may be eligible for this Railcard. HM Forces Railcard

The HM Forces Railcard costs £21 and it will save you 1/3 on most rail fares throughout Great Britain for a whole year. That works out to under £2 a month for huge savings.

You are eligible if you are a member of the Armed Forces, certain reservists and in most cases, a spouse or partner of a member or a dependent. Veterans Railcard
